Operators of power generation plants covered by the Large Combustion Plant Directive (LCPD) and waste incinerators covered by the Waste Incineration Directive (WID) must install analysers to monitor stack emissions continuously. The systems must be robust, reliable and carry the appropriate certification. In the UK the Environment Agency’s certification scheme is called MCERTS and covers the hardware, routine quality assurance of data and annual checks for the analysis equipment.
