To determine the concentration of the sampled material an accurate record of sample volume must be recorded. Maintaining a precise flow rate is critical if a cyclone or impactor system is used to separate particles with different aerodynamic diameters. To demonstrate compliance with standards samples must be collected every 24 hours, starting precisely at midnight.
