Dioxins

Persistant Organic Pollutants (POPs) include dioxins, furans and PAHs. Some of these compounds are carcinogenic and are detected in the environment at minute but significant concentrations. POPs are produced from combustion processes and must be sampled periodically using an isokinetic sampling system. Process operators can install a permanent sampling system to enable continuous sampling of these emissions in order to provide the highest level of reassurance to regulators and neighbours.
