Portable F.O.G (Fat, Oil and Grease) analyser saves time and lab costs
The latest on-site infrared analysers designed specifically to measure F.O.G levels in wastewater are now available from leading instrumentation company Quantitech.
With hefty fines for failing to comply with discharge standards set by the Environment Agency, businesses need to monitor discharges closely and these portable analysers help reduce laboratory costs and time delays.
In 2007 the EA recorded more than 500 pollution incidents in the UK that had a serious impact on water quality, with the water and sewage industry causing 20% of these and fuel and oils being among the most common pollutants.
The InfaCal TOG/TPH (Total Oil and Grease/Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons) offers on-site results in 10-15 minutes, is easy to use, lightweight and is ideal for monitoring fuel, oil and grease discharge levels both before and after treatment.
Quantitech’s Keith Golding said: “One of the main advantages of the InfraCal TOG/TPH is that it provides users with virtually instant readings and removes the inconvenience of having to wait for off-site test results. The instruments have become the worldwide standard for this type of measurement while the user-friendly design makes them simple for anybody with limited or no previous experience to operate".
